14-Year-Old and Adult Arrested in Connection with Frayser Shooting that Left 3 Injured

MEMPHIS, Tenn.— Police say a 14-year-old boy and an adult man shot at a Frayser house over the weekend while several people were inside.

Memphis Police were called to the 3200 block of Ardmore Street around 1:40 p.m. on November 2 for a shooting. Two teens and an adult were hit by gunshots.

At the scene, police were told that a man fought with some neighbors. After the fight, some men left the area and later came back with guns. Then they opened fire on a house with eight people inside.

Police say that one of the people living in the house started shooting back at the thieves.

A teenage girl who was hurt said the fight began when neighbors said that the kids from another family had stolen some things from their house.

“They jumped on me, but my grandfather got them off, and that’s when we went inside,” she said. “They quickly went into my grandmother’s house and began shooting, as they do everywhere.” Everyone was running all over the place and didn’t know where to go.

One of the people suspected of the shooting was named Jeremiah Walls. A private car took him to Regional One Hospital, where he was met by a 14-year-old boy who was also charged with shooting.

Police say that both of them were treated for their injuries, let go from the hospital, and then arrested.

He is charged with eight counts of Aggravated Assault. Walls is 22 years old. The bond for him was set at $500,000.

The 14-year-old was also charged with eight counts of Aggravated Assault. He doesn’t have a bond yet.
