Race Day Live (New York City, NY) – A teen who is 15 years old was hurt as he was subway surfing in the Bronx on Tuesday.
According to sources, he probably fell off a train on the No. 5 line between Gun Hill Road and Pelham Parkway at around 6 p.m.
According to the New York Police Department, authorities found the teenager on East Gun Hill Road with injuries to his head. According to the officials, he was in stable condition when he was transferred to NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi.
According to sources, the teenager was surfing the train alone, but pals were present at the moment.
According to the authorities, there is an ongoing investigation into the incident.
According to the New York Police Department, the number of subway surfing deaths increased in 2024. Last year, six people died while subway surfing, and half of those deaths occurred between September and October.
The MTA started a campaign to persuade straphangers to refrain from subway surfing. According to officials, the agency has been collaborating with social media companies to remove videos of the act.
