WALWORTH, Wisconsin – On Sunday, almost 17,000 gallons of water were utilized to put out a large 14-acre fire in southeast Wisconsin.
According to the announcement, on Sunday, October 6, 2024, at about 6:00 p.m., Walworth Fire & Rescue responded to a complaint of a combine on fire in the 600 block of N. Prairieview in Walworth.
The first responding units discovered a totally engulfed combine and approximately 14 acres of fire. Because of the prompt reaction, the fire was restricted to approximately 14 acres.
According to Walworth Fire & Rescue, they used approximately 17,000 gallons of water to put out the fire. Local farmers also played an important role in limiting further spread using their equipment.
There were no injuries reported in the incident, and all neighboring property was spared. Crews cleared the scene approximately one hour and twenty minutes after the call.
