Teen on the run from Texas faces charges for the murder of a 70-year-old man in Georgia, allegedly to take his vehicle.
A teenager is being sought in Texas after police allege he shot and killed a 70-year-old man during a carjacking incident in Atlanta over the holiday weekend.
On Saturday night, a 19-year-old named Jaylen Mosley was involved in a fatal shooting while attempting to steal a vehicle, reportedly having outstanding warrants for his arrest in Harris County, Houston, Texas.
Emergency responders quickly transported the unknown individual to a nearby medical facility, where he ultimately succumbed to his injuries.
“I always saw people around here, but I never saw violence or nothing like that, so it was really a surprise to me. We got too many guns, and then we shooting people for no reason, really,” Hermon Baaqar told FOX 5.
Baaqar mentioned that he has been a loyal patron of the Banks Package Store for many years. He was shocked to learn that someone so young could engage in such a bold act of wrongdoing.
“That’s a pitiful thought there. Our children always looking around to rob us, and we the elders,” the 81 year-old said.
Authorities took Mosley into custody soon after the event occurred. It has come to light that the teenager was a wanted fugitive from Texas.
He faces serious charges including murder, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during a felony, armed robbery, and hijacking a motor vehicle.
“They don’t understand the consequences that’s out there, and it’s too late to call mama when you in that little old room there. You ain’t got nothing but a bunk, a commode and a sink,” Baaqar stated.
The identity of the victim remains undisclosed by the police. Mosley remains detained at the Fulton County Jail.
