17th January 2015 — Lakeland Update 1.15pm.
Good field of boats here today although already a few breakdowns with Mod H Hydroplanes loosing half there numbers at the moment.
North Island Formula One Heat One1st Derek McAdam “The Chase”2nd Luke Sharp “Promt Parts”3rd Sam Hughes “Unfinished Business” 4th Philip Stilwell “Total Lubricants”5th Nick Coles “Public Enemy”Laps of the Triangle Course and a great start from the outside by Derek saw him sneak into the lead after the first lap and hold on for a great win. Luke tried hard to catch up but had to settle for second. Sam was comfortable in 3rd ahead of Philip and Nick Coles who got a bit lost and took the long course on one lap. TNT Racing DNS. Heat 2 will be sometime after lunch.
The GP boats have just been out testing all day so no action there.
With having 19 Clubmans boats they have split them into two heats.
Weathers overcast which is nice and cool
