Powerboat GP is back, bigger and better than ever in 2015 with a 6 round British Championship series in addition the annual RYA Sprint Championships that will be held in Bedford on the 1st & 2nd of August.
No less than 7 classes, ranging from the junior categories up to the thrilling 120 + mph F2 class catamarans will be competing for honors as they go all out to win the RYA British Championship titles. Covering venues in areas such as Lancashire, Lowestoft, Bedford and Birmingham, the series can be enjoyed by a whole host of powerboat racing fans.
If that’s not enough to wet your appetite then why not visit the National Watersports Centre in Nottingham on the 29th & 30th August, as Powerboat GP again returns to the popular venue to stage an international racing extravaganza that will see three World Champions crowned in the F4, OSY400 & GT30 Classes.
Series promoter, Jason Brewer commented ‘ 2015 will see Powerboat GP enter it’s 4th year and we are hugely excited by the growing series popularity, especially our impressive broadcast figures in 2014.
This year will see our focus remain on the sustainable and environmentally friendly ‘green classes’ and the continuing growth of the F4 catamaran class. We also have some new teams and new faces joining us as well as a number of our junior competitors progressing to the more senior racing categories.
I am especially looking forward to returning to the National Watersports Centre in Nottingham for the UIM World Championships. It really is fantastic venue to host powerboat racing at such a professional level and the gathering of competitors from all over the world racing their hearts out is truly a sight to behold. Real racing with real international participation is not to be missed ‘
Tiff Needell will be back with the Powerboat GP series tour, that will again be broadcast on Sky Sports for it’s 4th season.
