Dinghy Derby promises fast and furious River Murray race this weekend

Drivers and swingers wear protective clothing but at high speed, along creeks strewn with submerged logs, just completing the circuit is an achievement.
“It’s an hour and 15 minutes, your heart’s just pumping the whole way round,” Mr Glazbrook said.
“There’s going to be a few tired bodies at the end of the race.”
While he has never sustained serious injury, Mr Glazbrook has been in a boat that flipped over.
“Just going the wrong way off of a wake, the whole boat ending upside down, getting a bit of a clean out,” he said.
“They’re the best ones, once everyone swims away from them.”
This year Mr Glazbrook will compete as a driver for the first time.
He said sitting in the dingy at the start line was a nervous wait.
