April 2 2016 Official statement from the team:

Last fall, the team had a 2016 projection meeting with Mercury Marine — Canada. Mercury has had unwavering support of our team and sport. We agreed incorporating a new more advanced boat into our program was a good solid step for a successful future.

I have been very impressed with Baba boats for an extremely long time due to there strength, speed, and behaviour on the water. The past 7 months, with a lot of hard work from a dream team of people, we pursued our goal of getting the first Baba in Canada.

We purchased Tobias Munthe-Kaas boat which will now serve as Mercury — Canada’s primary race boat I would like to thank Mercury — Canada, Chris Fairchild, Tobias Munthe-Kaas, RolfSunde, Massimo Roggerio, Baba Boats, Marit Stromay, and Peters and May for the amazing help, guidance and dedication to our project. And now for the hard work, the boat should arrive in May then off for set-up and hours of testing!
