NGK F1 boats opt out of Detroit Hydrofest event will race Springfield Ohio instead
ATTENTION: Change in the NGK F1 Powerboat Championship Schedule for the 5th Race of the Series on August 25–27th.
Unfortunately we have had a change in our schedule and we will not be conducting our series in conjunction with the Detroit Hydroplane Races on August 25–27. We are extremely excited to announce Springfield Ohio’s inaugural event on the same August 25–27 date. In association with the City of Springfield Ohio and the Clark County Fairgrounds the United Powerboat Performance Group, LLC will be promoting the APBA sanctioned event with S.P.O.R.T. conducting the racing program. The Springfield event will showcase the Formula One and Formula Lights divisions to the delight of a new fan base. We welcome this new opportunity with the long term strategy of promoting and conducting powerboat racing on the purpose built facility adjacent to the Clark County Fairgrounds in Springfield Ohio. This will allow us to control a geographically central location to further engage all regions of powerboat racers. We will have much more information for everyone
in Nashville.

Details will be developed soon including admission price, camping and other activities. National commercials will start airing on CBS Sports Network. CBS Sports Network will be here filming and the races will be viewed worldwide by 728 million potential viewers! Racers from all over the US will compete. Great news for Springfield and Clark County.
