Sunday morning headlines from around the powerboat racing community.
Saturday turned out to be a nail biter from Bay City Michigan to Valleyfield Canada which saw the Hydroplane Racing League start the day with a pair of breathtaking blow-overs no injuries had been reported as of Saturday evening. Sadly the same could not be said for racing across the pond in Italy which saw world champion Alex Cremona taken out by a serious crash in hydro 250. The Italian was airlifted to hospital where he is currently in guarded condition. Racing will continue at most venues Sunday afternoon so check back later this evening for updates.
Alex Cremona crashes at San Nazzaro Italy while racing H250, Transported to Parma by helicopter. Reassurances come
Good news is coming from the Ospedale Maggiore in Parma where the Piacenza driver Alex Cremona is hospitalized. According to what has been gathered, the young man would be conscious and began to remember some of the fringes of the terrible accident that saw him protagonist at San Nazzaro in the late afternoon of Saturday 13 July. There are several fractures reported by Cremona, but the hypothesis of a surgical intervention seems to be avoided. Any decision on the matter will be taken on Sunday, July 14th.
