Please read below for the details as to why.

TOMORC has been diligently keeping up with the COVID-19 developments throughout the last couple of months. This situation is incredibly unique and changes daily. TOMORC is first and foremost committed to following all of the safety requirements imposed by public health authorities. Additionally, government protocols and executive orders have greatly impacted our initial decision-making.

Many different aspects went into the decision-making process.

Gathering Sizes (as of now would be in direct violation of a Michigan Executive Order – currently limited to 10)
Ambulance Availability

However, the decision was made for us this morning, on May 22nd. We placed calls to our local authorities early this week and heard back from the Sheriff quite quickly. They had no opposition. This morning, the DNR called back and notified us that our permit would be pulled should we attempt to race on June 13th. Most of you know, without a DNR permit, racing cannot happen.

Obviously we are saddened by this news, but we are optimistic for 2021. We had so many things planned for 2020, especially David Kowalski, but rest assured, they will be happening next year.

Fireside 500 2021 will still be a race you don’t want to miss.
