- AVON PARK FLORIDA — Bystanders did CPR on a speed boat operator Thursday afternoon shortly after his high-speed craft flipped on Lake Damon
- The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) still had the matter under investigation. It reportedly happened at or just before 12:30 p.m.
Sadly, the OPC racing community lost one of its own after a testing incident last week. It was with loved ones by his side that Richard succumbed to his injuries early in the morning on Sunday. We extend our sincere condolences to the family and to all who knew Richard. May he rest in peace.

Richard Young 11/2/60- 2/5/23.
He died knowing how much he was loved, and how much love and support his family has. He will be so sorely missed.
