Race Day Live (Nashua, NH) – A 51-year-old man died after his car crashed into a utility pole in Nashua on Sunday morning. The tragic incident occurred around 10:30 a.m. on Daniel Webster Highway near Spit Brook Road.

According to the Nashua Police Department, the crash caused power lines from the transformers to fall onto the car. Authorities quickly contacted Eversource to shut off the power to prevent further hazards. The situation prompted a MedFlight helicopter to be dispatched, although the driver could not be saved.

Albert Glaeser, a resident of Nashua, was identified as the driver. The Nashua Fire Department extricated him from the vehicle, but he was pronounced dead at the scene once the power was shut off.

Both the northbound and southbound sides of Daniel Webster Highway near Spit Brook Road were temporarily closed while emergency crews worked at the scene. The highway has since reopened to traffic.
