An 8-year-old girl made it home safely after hijacking her mother’s car and driving it to a neighboring Target in Ohio, police said Sunday. Her trip to the store was captured on dash camera footage.
The unidentified youngster was drinking a Frappuccino when police found her, according to a Facebook post by Bedford Police.
“Well, I’ve finally found a woman who’s in more of a hurry to shop at Target than my wife,” Bedford Police wrote on Facebook. “More of (a) haste by eight years. That’s true, an 8-year-old hijacked mommy’s car this morning and drove to Target in Bainbridge to shop.”
The girl recovered safely, although she struck a mailbox.
Police located the 8-year-old after family members reported the girl and her mother’s 2020 Nissan Rogue missing shortly before 9 a.m. Sunday, according to a Bedford Police report. Ring camera footage obtained by the neighbor’s security camera revealed the girl “got into the SUV and drove off” around 7:00 a.m. with “no one but herself,” according to the police report. Police also received a report of a tiny child driving a vehicle that matched the description.
The video of the girl’s driving shows the SUV swerving and switching lanes as it speeds down the road.
According to the police report, the youngster was not hurt during her trip but claimed to have “struck a mailbox.” Police discovered damage to the vehicle.

The vehicle was finally located in Target’s parking lot, approximately 25 minutes from the girl’s home. Meanwhile, the kid was found inside the store, and her family members drove to Bainbridge to pick her up, according to the police report.
While it is unclear whether she purchased anything or “if she was even able to use her Target app to save 5%,” cops stated that they “let her finish her Frappuccino.” It is also unclear how she paid for her drink.
“We’re not mean,” Bedford Police wrote in their post.
