Pascal Wehrlein made history by winning the Formula E season’s second Misano E-Prix, becoming the first repeat winner of the season. The victory came unexpectedly as Oliver Rowland encountered last-lap trouble.
Initially, Rowland seemed poised for victory after his teammate Antonio Felix da Costa received a penalty on Saturday, allowing Rowland to secure the win.
However, in Sunday’s race, despite battling energy-saving issues, Rowland managed to take the lead from Wehrlein with five laps remaining and held a comfortable lead into the final lap.
Jake Dennis held onto third place, with Nico Mueller and Nick Cassidy close behind. However, drama unfolded on the final lap as Cassidy overtook Mueller just before the finish line, securing fourth place.
Jake Hughes initially finished fifth but was later penalized, promoting Sergio Sette Camara to fifth place and Jean-Eric Vergne to eighth.
Wehrlein not only secured the win but also earned a bonus point for the fastest lap, putting him in the championship lead alongside Dennis. Despite Rowland’s last-lap setback, he remains in contention, just nine points behind the leaders.

The race also saw several retirements, including Sebastien Buemi and da Costa, due to mechanical issues and incidents on track. Despite the challenges, Wehrlein emerged victorious, solidifying his position at the top of the championship standings.
