Two Mississippi Men Sentenced for Child Exploitation Crimes

JACKSON, Miss. – It was decided that two guys were guilty of exploitation of children in Mississippi.

A judge in Harrison County, California, gave Robert Christian McMorrow, of San Diego, six years in jail without the chance of parole on August 5. For having child sexual abuse material (CSAM), he was also given five years of supervised probation.

The Mississippi Attorney General’s Office says that McMorrow was stationed temporarily at Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi at the time of the crime.

Scott Kevin Merrill, of Moselle, was given a 40-year prison term by a judge in Jones County on July 23. He will have to serve 10 years of that sentence day-to-day without the chance of parole. He was also put on controlled probation for five years for having CSAM.

When they get out of prison, both guys will have to sign up as sex offenders.

The Mississippi Attorney General’s Office said that both men were arrested after CyberTips were sent to the office.
