A Wisconsin Man Brings Himself in the Day After Shooting a Hospitalized Person

La Crosse, Wisconsin – A 34-year-old Wisconsin man handed himself into police on Monday after a gunshot that left one person hospitalized.

According to the statement, on Sunday, September 1, soon after 2:30 p.m., officers from the La Crosse Police Department responded to a complaint of shots fired in the 2100 block of George Street.

During the initial inquiry, authorities discovered that an incident occurred between three people and one of them was shot. The victim was sent to a local hospital with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

Ryder Ott, 34, surrendered to La Crosse County Jail on Monday in connection with the shooting. He was then arrested on charges of attempted first-degree intentional homicide and felon in possession of a handgun.

The La Crosse Police Department believes this was an isolated event with no threat to the community. Officers are still investigating this event.
