SNAP Recipients May Face Decrease in Food Stamps Payments After 2025 COLA Adjustment in October

2 min read

SNAP benefits will not be increased in all states and territories. For your information, there is one significant exception. The USDA has verified that Hawaii would monitor how the maximum Food Stamp amounts decline.

Alaska, Guam, and the US Virgin Islands have larger maximum amounts than the 48 contiguous states and the District of Columbia, as does Hawaii. However, they will continue to receive a SNAP COLA rise, as they did in 2023.

SNAP decreases in Hawaii

Even though SNAP beneficiaries in Hawaii experienced a drop last year, they will receive another this year. Even if the COLA is for 2025, the increased maximum amounts will take effect next month.

As a result, beginning October 1, 2024, SNAP beneficiaries in Hawaii will receive a lower maximum benefit amount. If you still don’t know the new and revised quantities in Hawaii, look them up below:

8 members can get up to $3,102
7 members can get up to $2,714
6 members can get up to $2,456
