East Hartford, Connecticut. According to state police, a 22-year-old male drove a motorcycle at 124 mph to avoid a trooper who was attempting to pull him over for speeding on Interstate 84 East.
Dalton Veiga, of Farmington, faces charges of careless driving, disregarding an officer’s signal, and operating a motorbike without an endorsement. He’s been released on a $10,000 bail.
According to troopers, Veiga was sighted by state police at Exit 58 in East Hartford around 9:50 p.m. on Tuesday. Veiga was riding with another motorbike driver, and they were both doing over 90 mph.
When the trooper attempted to halt the motorcyclists, they accelerated, and the trooper ended the chase for safety reasons. Veiga was later found at the place where the motorcycle was registered.
