Man Pleads Not Guilty to Charges Stemming From an Alleged Sexual Contact With a Teenager

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio— A federal parolee accused of violating a no-contact order 300 times with a juvenile with whom he is accused of having a sexual relationship pleaded not guilty during his arraignment in Mahoning County Pleas Court on Tuesday.

Brandon Turjonis, 36, pleaded guilty before Magistrate Dominic DeLaurentis to two counts of gross sexual imposition and two counts of sexual battery, both third-degree felonies.

His trial is scheduled on September 30 before Judge Anthony Donofrio, but it is very probably going to be pushed again.

Turjonis served a federal prison sentence for a weapons offense resulting from a 2020 standoff at a South Side residence.

While on parole for that offense, he is accused of contacting the teen despite a no-contact order, including 232 times while in county jail awaiting a federal parole violation hearing.

Turjonis was under investigation for the relationship when he was suspected of violating the no-contact order.

Turjonis is currently serving a term for his parole breach.

Because he is a federal detainee, his bond has been deferred to Judge Donofrio.
