Teen Found Unresponsive After Being Pulled from Framingham Pond, Officials Report

On Sunday, in Framingham, Massachusetts, a teenage boy was pulled from the water of a pond and first responders were trying to bring him back to life.

Police in Framingham said the young person was last seen in the water of Learned Pond around 3 p.m.

According to NBC10 Boston, Deputy Fire Chief Ryan Sullivan said that they got a call for a water rescue at Lawrence Beach and found several people there telling them that a young surfer was lost.

Divers were sent to the pond and were able to get the kid out. He was being rushed to MetroWest Medical Center while CPR was being done.

According to Framingham firefighters, the teen was male and 17 years old. He was not breathing when he was found and brought to the surface, which took about 10 minutes after the water rescue started.

Firefighters said the teen was about 30 yards from the beach on the pond. They also said that two lifeguards and four city employees were on duty.

The young man hasn’t been named by the public, and there was no new information on his situation right away.

A man who lives near the beach said it was terrible.

Anyone who lives nearby and heard all the sirens going off at the beach said, “It’s sad. People come down here to have fun, and someone gets lost in the crowds.”

“I walked down to see what was happening and they had firefighters already in the water searching and they brought in dive teams from around and they eventually found the person,” he said. “It seems likely that the person was underwater for a while.” I’m not sure how long I was down here, but they still hadn’t found him after 15 minutes. But they rushed him to the hospital, so we hope the best for that person.

The fire chief said it took between 17 and 20 minutes for divers to find the teen because it takes time to get resources to the area and get the dive team going.

And Convery says that this beach is one of the most famous ones. On hot days, it gets very crowded.

Sullivan wants everyone to remember that water can lie about its depth and distance, so it’s important to know how well you can swim. In the sea, he also said that people should stay together and never go out on their own or too deep.
