According to a press statement issued by the Allegheny County Police Department, police were dispatched to the intersection of Fifth and Penn avenues at approximately 6:40 p.m. in response to a complaint of a collision involving two vehicles.
The authorities reported that they discovered two victims at the spot. One of the two males passed away while being transported to the nearby hospitals. On Friday evening, it was not immediately known what the status of the second man was. As far as the county police were concerned, neither car contained any passengers.
