Easy and Delicious Stovetop Baked Beans Recipe

2 min read

I like to make homemade baked beans in various methods, including on the stovetop. Especially when I’m in a hurry and don’t have time to bake them in the oven. This is a very simple recipe, and the baked beans come together in about 15 minutes. You will require the following ingredients:

Recipe:

  • One teaspoon of butter.
  • 2 tablespoons of finely diced onions.
  • 2 tablespoons of finely diced bell pepper.
  • 1 15-ounce can of pork and beans.
  • Two tablespoons of brown sugar.
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup.
  • One teaspoon of yellow mustard.
  • Add salt and pepper to taste.

Cook the butter, onions, and bell peppers until the vegetables are tender, approximately 3 minutes.

Preheat a medium skillet over medium heat.

Add the pork and beans, brown sugar, ketchup, mustard, salt, and pepper, and stir until thoroughly combined.

Turn the heat down to a simmer and cook the beans for about 10 minutes. You can cook them longer without harming them. Just be sure they don’t burn.

Remove from the heat and stir. Enjoy!

Note: If you don’t like onions or bell peppers in your baked beans, leave them out. If you prefer bbq baked beans, you might use barbecue sauce instead of ketchup.

I like to serve these stovetop baked beans with pulled barbecue, potato salad, and coleslaw, but they’re also great with hamburgers and hot dogs.
