I made this for dinner the other night because I had red wine and mushrooms that I needed to use up. It’s very easy to follow the recipe. These things are what you will need:
How to make it:
- 1- 1 1/2 pounds of sirloin steak, cut into small pieces after being trimmed
- 1 cup of mushrooms cut up
- 1/2 medium-sized red onion, cut into small pieces
- 1 cup of beef broth or red wine
- 2 large sticks of butter
- 1 tablespoon of oil from the avocado
- 1/2 teaspoon of fresh thyme or 1/4 teaspoon of dried thyme
- Add pepper and salt to taste.
Put the oil and one tablespoon of butter on the heat. Add the steak tips and stir them in. Cook for 5 minutes, stirring often, or until they’re almost done how you like. Don’t cook them all the way through.
After taking the steak out of the pan, raise the heat to medium and add the onions, mushrooms, and butter. Cook for three minutes. If you don’t want the veggies to burn, make sure the pan isn’t too hot when you add the vegetables.
Turn the heat down to a low level and add the wine or beef broth. Do this for three to five more minutes.
Put the steak tips back into the pan and cook until almost all of the wine has been cooked off or absorbed by them, about three minutes. Have fun!
These steak tips go well with fresh salads and baked potatoes. They taste great with garlic mashed potatoes too.
Warm up a big pan over medium-high heat.
