A murder-suicide at a Miami-Dade home Saturday morning killed a man and a woman, leaving children without parents, according to authorities.

Officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 124600 block of West Randall Park Drive around 8:30 a.m., according to Miami-Dade Police Det. Andre Martin. They discovered Marcos Antonio Gonzalez, 40, and Raiza Cajuso, 39, both with gunshot wounds, inside a residence.

According to police, the pair died at the site.

An initial investigation found that the two were in a relationship but had separated. The couple’s three children, aged 9, 13, and 15, were inside the house when the incident occurred, according to Miami Herald news partner CBS News Miami. One of them placed the 911 call.

Gonzalez and Cajuso had a “violent” altercation just before the shooting. Police say Gonzalez pulled out a revolver and shot Cajuso before turning it on himself.

Anyone with information on this event can contact Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at (305) 471-TIPS (8477).
