Mount Pleasant, South Carolina – According to the Mount Pleasant Police Department, two people accused of theft led officers on a chase Sunday evening.

At 4:20 p.m., the department received notification of a shoplifting incident at the Oakland Market Walmart. Sgt. Ashley Croy explained. The suspects left Walmart in a U-Haul, which officers attempted to stop.

The car did not stop, and authorities did not pursue it. However, a “be on the lookout” notice was issued for the occurrence. Later, Charleston County deputies discovered the U-Haul and attempted a traffic stop, Sgt. Croy recounted.

Once again, the cars refused to stop, resulting in a pursuit with Mount Pleasant Police Department assistance. Stop sticks were deployed successfully.

Police apprehended two individuals, but Sgt. Croy stated that their identities are not yet available for release.
