Alabama Attorney General Joins Fight Against Dangerous Venezuelan Gang Tren de Aragua!

Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall has joined a group of 26 attorneys general in supporting the Trump Administration’s actions against the Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua (TdA).

The coalition is also asking for a stay on a district court’s temporary restraining order, which has blocked President Trump’s efforts to address the threat posed by TdA.

“Tren de Aragua is a violent terrorist group with ties to Nicolas Maduro’s regime in Venezuela.

They are responsible for murders, drug trafficking, and human trafficking in the U.S.

President Trump has the constitutional authority to protect national security and American lives from this threat,” said Attorney General Marshall.

A news release from the DA on March 19 states that the restraining order should be lifted for two main reasons: it puts public safety at risk and overlooks the President’s constitutional and statutory authority to protect national security.

Marshall highlighted that President Trump acted within his constitutional powers under Article II, which allows the President to take action against foreign threats, including transnational criminal organizations like TdA.

Marshall’s position reflects Alabama’s ongoing focus on law enforcement and national security, aligning with broader efforts to combat international criminal networks and related illegal activities.
