Alabama Attorney General Targets Venezuelan Gang Threat in New Operation

Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall has joined 26 other attorneys general in supporting the Trump Administration’s actions against the Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua (TdA).

The coalition is also calling for a stay on a district court’s temporary restraining order that blocked President Trump’s measures to combat the violent group.

“Tren de Aragua is a dangerous terrorist organization connected to Nicolas Maduro’s regime in Venezuela.

TDA is responsible for numerous murders, drug trafficking, and human trafficking in the U.S. President Trump has the constitutional authority to protect national security and American lives threatened by this invasion,” said Attorney General Marshall.

In a news release from the DA on March 19, the legal brief argues that lifting the temporary restraining order is necessary because it jeopardizes public safety and overlooks the President’s constitutional and legal authority to protect national security.

Marshall stressed that President Trump acted within his constitutional powers under Article II, which grants the President broad authority to address foreign threats, including action against transnational criminal organizations like Tren de Aragua.

Marshall’s position reflects Alabama’s ongoing commitment to law enforcement and national security, reinforcing efforts to combat crime and illegal activities tied to international criminal networks.
