Bakersfield, California – A tense moment at a Mister Car Wash in Bakersfield, California, has gone viral after a woman said an elderly driver nearly hit her car in the drive-through lane — then allegedly unleashed racist slurs when confronted. The incident, captured on video and shared on TikTok, has drawn widespread condemnation online, with viewers calling the older woman’s behavior “completely unhinged.”
“She Almost Hit My Car, Then Started Calling Me Names”
The Black woman who recorded the altercation said she was waiting her turn in line when an older woman wearing a red cap and sunglasses tried to cut in front of her and nearly collided with her vehicle.
When she confronted the driver, the woman reportedly insisted she had already paid and was “just adjusting her position.”
“She’s lying,” the woman filming said. “Security footage will prove it.”
What started as a simple car wash misunderstanding quickly escalated into a much more disturbing encounter.
“She Started Screaming the N-Word — Over and Over”
According to the video, the elderly woman began shouting racial slurs, including the N-word, while claiming she was “just an elderly lady” being harassed. The woman behind the camera remained calm and told her to stop using racial language, warning, “I’m gonna post this on TikTok, and everyone will see how racist you are.”
Rather than apologize, the older driver pulled out her own phone and began recording, claiming she was the one being harassed. Moments later, a bystander stepped in and confirmed that the Black woman had been in the right.
“You were in the right — she’s just acting like a Karen,” the passerby said.
“I’ll Look Like the Aggressive One Because I’m Black”
After the confrontation, the woman thanked the witness and explained that she planned to ask the car wash manager to review the surveillance footage.
“She didn’t hit my car, but she almost did,” she said. “Of course, I’m gonna look like the aggressive one because I’m Black.”
She then chose to end the confrontation peacefully, returning to her vehicle and leaving the scene.
Viewers React: “You Had Every Right to Call Her Out”
The video quickly circulated across TikTok and Reddit, where users condemned the elderly woman’s actions and praised the victim’s composure during the incident.
“She was totally in the wrong. You had the right of way, and her calling you those racist names is wild,” one commenter wrote. “I’m glad you didn’t let her drag you down.”
Another user added, “She trippin — especially for calling you the N-word. I hope she gets what she deserves.”

“Stay Safe — These Situations Can Turn Dangerous”
While many applauded the woman for standing her ground, others reminded her and viewers that such encounters can escalate quickly.
“Girl, you never know how crazy someone can be,” one person commented. “If they don’t hit you, just stay calm and leave. People have lost their lives over stuff like this.”
Some expressed sadness that racism like this still occurs, especially in 2025.
“You can tell she’s super entitled. I’m sorry that happened to you,” another user wrote. “Sometimes, just having someone back you up means everything.”
“It’s 2025 — and People Still Think Like This?”
The incident has reignited conversations about racism in everyday situations — from road rage to routine errands — and how quickly such moments can expose deep-seated prejudice.
“It’s 2025, and people are still screaming slurs in a car wash line. Unreal,” one viewer commented.
As the video continues to circulate online, many hope it sparks more awareness about implicit bias and accountability — especially in public spaces where tensions can escalate in seconds.
