BENTONVILLE, Ark. — Court papers say that a man from Bentonville who was on probation for sexual assault has been arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a child he was babysitting almost ten years ago.
The 33-year-old Justin John Sellers was arrested on November 5 and charged with two counts of second-degree sexual assault and two counts of sexual mischief with a child.
Authorities in Benton County, Arkansas, got a report from the Arkansas State Child Abuse Hotline on October 18 that Sellers had met with his probation officer and admitted to sexually abusing a five-year-old child.
Sells said that he agreed to watch his neighbor’s child about 10 years ago. Based on the statement, Sellers is said to have sexually abused the child during that time.
The child, who is now 15 years old, went to the Child and Family Advocacy Center with a parent to talk about what was said. They told of two times when Sellers touched her improperly, both times while he was watching her.
The sellers supposedly agreed to talk to detectives at first, but later stopped calling them back, the affidavit said.
Sellers told his probation officer that he has had six victims in the past, but two of them have not been found by the police.
In 2019, he was arrested for third-degree domestic battery, and in 2022, he was found guilty of second-degree sexual attack. He is currently on probation for the crime he committed in 2022.
There were also two DWI arrests for Sellers.
He has a court date on December 16 and is being held in the Benton County Detention Center on a $650,000 bond.
