Boise police are investigating a tragic motorcycle accident that occurred early Sunday morning.

Officers arrived to the intersection of S. Vista Avenue and West Rose Hill Street, southwest of downtown, about 2:50 a.m., according to a Boise Police Department news release issued Tuesday.

On Monday, the man riding the motorcycle died as a result of his injuries in the hospital.

“On scene, there was no immediate evidence that another vehicle was involved,” the investigating officer added. “Witnesses reported seeing the victim after the crash, but officers did not locate anyone who witnessed the crash.”

According to police, a preliminary investigation by the department’s crash reconstruction team revealed that the biker was driving north on Vista, passing through the S-curve around the Boise Depot before crossing the intersection at Rose Hill and colliding with a concrete wall.

The Ada County Coroner’s Office will identify the victim once his family has been notified.

Police have encouraged anyone with information regarding the crash to contact Ada County Dispatch at 208-377-6790.
