A guy from California was found guilty of murdering his girlfriend on Christmas Eve. Evidence showed that she had been tortured and tattooed with “degrading words.”
This is what the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office said: Alisen Takacs-Escobar was found dead in the apartment she shared with 24-year-old Saul C. Nava on December 24, 2021.
Nava was found guilty on Tuesday of nine felonies, including first-degree murder, torture, kidnapping, aggravated mayhem, assault with a dangerous weapon, having child pornography on her, and hitting a current or former roommate.
Authorities said that police went to the couple’s apartment in Thousand Oaks, California, which is in the northwest and close to Los Angeles after Nava called 911 to ask for help.
When police and firefighters got to the house, they found Takacs-Escobar dead and hurt “all over her body.”
“She suffered from extensive bruising, the top of her head had a large laceration, and degrading words were newly tattooed on the center of her chest,” the prosecutor’s office said.
Police say Nava was caught at the house.
During their investigation, the cops found some shocking things, like a tattoo kit.
A hammer, a screwdriver, and baseball bats were also found by the police. Police and the office of the district attorney said Nava beat and tortured her “for days.”
Nava’s phone had videos of her boyfriend, 24 years old, “taunting her and displaying no concern for her worsening condition.” These videos were taken hours before Takacs-Escobar died, according to police.
Police said that a later investigation showed that Nava had tortured ex-girlfriends in the past.
One of his ex-girlfriends said he beat her over and over while locking her in a room.
The prosecutor’s office said, “She tried to run away at one point, but Nava caught her and threatened her with a knife until she got into his car.”
In a different case, Nava’s ex-girlfriend got pregnant when she was 17 years old, and he is said to have talked her into having an abortion.
Their boss said, “She was punched in the face, choked, and secretly filmed having sex with Nava.” “The abuse finally stopped when Nava started dating Ms. Takacs-Escobar during the summer of 2021”
There was no information available right away about a sentencing date.
“Although this result cannot erase the immeasurable pain the defendant inflicted on the victims and their families, we hope that this brings some measure of closure to see him held accountable for his horrific crimes,” Deputy District Attorney David Russell said.
