Cincinnati, OH – When he woke up on Friday, the father of a 3-year-old girl slain in a dog attack told dispatchers that she was already dead in their living room.
Computer-aided dispatch paperwork and 911 call recordings show that the guy called Cincinnati police at 7:50 a.m., shortly after he woke up in their Roselawn apartment. He called himself the girl’s father in a hurry and told the call-taker what had happened.
He claimed that as he entered the living room, blood was everywhere. Kingsley Wright, his daughter, lay lifeless on the ground.
Since then, the Hamilton County Coroner’s Office has determined that Kingsley died as a result of a dog attack. Three dogs needed to be taken out of the house, so Cincinnati Animal CARE was contacted Friday morning. According to a shelter representative, the dogs are presently being detained for a 10-day quarantine period that is mandated by the state.
He described his daughter to the operator, who instructed him to put any dogs in the house away before the police showed up. According to Kingsley’s father, they already had terriers in their cage.
“That’s why I’m like, did any of my pets attack her or something? I would have heard this,” the man said.
He informed the operator that there was another person in the apartment and that they both woke up simultaneously. The man claimed that because the apartment’s front door was shut, it did not seem like there had been a break-in.
“My baby is dead,” exclaimed Kingsley’s dad. “This has got to be an f—ing nightmare.”
In Ohio, local public health organizations get reports of approximately 17,000 dog bites annually. According to experts, at least 17,000 more bites go undetected.
Of the 4.7 million persons who are attacked by dogs nationwide each year, 1 million need medical attention. Youngsters under the age of ten make up about half of bite victims and are disproportionately killed.
After the first unprovoked attack, judges have the authority to order the extermination of dangerous or vicious dogs. It is frequently up to the dog owner. The judge must order euthanasia if a dog that is already considered aggressive escapes and kills a second human.
