Monday started chilly across North Texas, with temperatures in the 30s and 40s to kick off the work week.
Clear skies and light winds have allowed for good radiational cooling, causing temperatures to drop into the 30s and 40s. On the bright side, this has made for a beautiful sunrise.

By midweek, a dryline will form and move through North Texas, bringing a 20%-30% chance of isolated storms. Some of these storms could become severe, though the overall risk is low.
A bigger concern this week is the fire danger. From Tuesday through Thursday, there’s an elevated fire threat along and east of the I-35 corridor. By Friday, the threat shifts west, with a critical fire risk for the western parts of North Texas.
The increased fire risk is due to temperatures reaching the 80s and strong winds gusting between 45 and 50 mph.
A cold front will pass through on Friday, bringing cooler air, but high temperatures will still stay above average.
