Authorities say a teenage girl from Massachusetts tried to get away from troopers on Wednesday morning by riding her motorcycle at more than 120 mph on Interstate 93 in New Hampshire. She was caught.
New Hampshire State Police say that 18-year-old Juliana R. Gobbi of Brockton is charged with criminal damage, driving recklessly, and disobeying a police officer.
State police said that the driver of a white motorcycle that was going too fast and passing other cars in a dangerous way on the northbound side of the highway in Concord around 8:30 a.m. refused to stop when they were asked to, but the driver refused.
The motorcyclist, who was eventually identified as Gobbi, is said to have sped up to over 120 mph and kept going north. The soldiers then lost sight of Gobbi and stopped chasing him.
Soon after, cops saw Gobbi speeding through Ashland and Campton. State police said she got off the highway at Exit 28 and stopped at a gas station nearby.
People say Gobbi tried to run away again, but she hit the front of a stopped state police car at a low speed and lost control. After that, she was arrested.
Gobbi was given personal recognizance bail and told to show up in Plymouth District Court on December 16, 2024.
