Countdown Begins: Social Security Sends $967 Payments in Just 25 Days!

April’s Supplemental Security Income (SSI) payment, worth up to $967, will be sent to millions of beneficiaries in 25 days.

The next round of SSI payments is scheduled for April 1. These payments are provided to individuals with severe disabilities that impact their income, as outlined by the Social Security Administration (SSA).

To qualify, applicants must be at least partially blind or have a physical or mental condition that significantly limits their daily activities for at least 12 months or is expected to be fatal.

The payment amount varies based on factors like filing status. Individuals can receive up to $967 per month, couples filing jointly can get up to $1,450, and essential persons who assist SSI recipients may receive up to $484. Due to inflation, these amounts have increased by 2.5% compared to last year.

Recipients can use the SSA’s payment calculator to determine their specific amount.

SSI payments are separate from regular Social Security benefits. Receiving one does not automatically qualify a person for the other.
