My family likes bone-in country-style pork ribs, but this is a piece of meat that requires long cooking or the use of an instant pot, as I did. I made mine barbecue-flavored with a seasoning I needed to use up, but you can make them in any flavor you choose by following the same process and modifying the ingredients. This recipe makes the ribs so soft that they fall right off the bone. You will require the following ingredients:
Recipe:
- One package of bone-in country-style pork ribs
- 4 tablespoons of dry rub
- 1 cup of barbecue sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste (if not already included in the rub).
Place the apple juice, country-style ribs, and dry rub (or whatever seasoning you’re using) in the instant pot. Set to manual and cook on high pressure for 50 minutes. Carefully release the pressure or set them to keep warm until ready to serve.
Remove the ribs from the instant pot and toss with the barbecue sauce before serving. Tip: If you want to give the ribs a burnt appearance and taste, place them under the broiler at this step. Enjoy!
This recipe can also be used with boneless country style ribs. You can also cook these ribs in the oven; simply set the temperature to 300 degrees and cook for 2 1/2 hours, or until they fall off the bone.
I prefer to serve these ribs with baked beans, potato salad, and coleslaw, but they may be served with a variety of sides.
