A crash on northbound Interstate 95 that hurt people and slowed down traffic was cleared Tuesday evening in Providence. The accident happened near Exit 35 at US-1A/Thurbers Ave. It required a quick reaction from emergency crews, who temporarily closed lanes to help the hurt and get traffic moving again.
Authorities confirmed that at least one person was hurt in the crash, which happened early in the evening, which is one of the busiest times to drive on I-95 through Providence. Emergency workers helped at the scene, and people who were hurt got more medical care away from the scene. The world still doesn’t know how bad the injuries are.
For a while, traffic was very bad, and delays went back several exits as first responders worked to clear the area. Police told drivers to go around the blocked roads until the accident was over around 7:00 p.m.
The Rhode Island State Police are still trying to figure out what caused the accident. As of now, there have been no reports of tickets or crimes, and all lanes have been reopened.
Our thoughts are with those who are getting better and hope they get better soon.
