Donald Trump has demanded that a portrait of him hanging in Colorado’s State Capitol be taken down, calling it “purposefully distorted.” Naturally, the internet had a field day sharing the image.
In a lengthy post on Truth Social, Trump criticized the artist behind the portrait, claiming she had “lost her talent” as she aged.
He also suggested that “many people” from Colorado have contacted him to complain about the image, which he included in his post.
“Nobody likes a bad picture or painting of themselves,” Trump wrote. “But the one in Colorado, in the State Capitol, put up by the Governor, along with all other Presidents, was purposefully distorted to a level that even I, perhaps, have never seen before.”
He added that the artist had also painted Barack Obama’s portrait, which he thought looked great. “She must have lost her talent as she got older,” he added.
Trump said he’d prefer not having a portrait at all rather than keeping the current one.
Trump then targeted Colorado’s governor, Jared Polis, calling him “extremely weak” on crime and accusing him of failing to control gang activity in Aurora.
“I am speaking on behalf of the people of Colorado to the Radical Left Governor, Jared Polis, who is extremely weak on crime, in particular concerning Tren de Aragua, which practically took over Aurora (Don’t worry, we saved it!), to take it down. Jared should be ashamed of himself!” Trump wrote.
As expected, the internet responded quickly. The image was widely shared, and many mocked Trump’s reaction.
“Trump is such a petty, insecure baby,” one user commented.
The drama follows Trump’s recent claims that his son Barron has an “unbelievable aptitude in technology” because he knows how to turn on a laptop.
Trump also made headlines after suggesting that Canada should become the 51st U.S. state — a remark that was promptly mocked by a Canadian legend.
