Double Deposits SSDI Recipients Set to Receive Two Direct Payments on the Same November Date

2 min read

People who get SSDI will get one of the four November Social Security checks. Along with meeting other requirements, you must have applied and been approved by the Agency to be eligible for any of them.

Either Social Security Disability Insurance or Supplemental Security Income (SSI) can be used to pay for disability payments. Sometimes, they could split the pay with some qualified people. This is also what will happen in November.

SSI and SSDI on November 1, 2024

On November 1, everyone who gets SSI will get their monthly payment. People who get Social Security Disability Insurance may get more than one payment. This Federal check or direct deposit could be one of them.

If your SSDI payment is due on November 3, you will get your check or direct deposit early. Just so you know, November 3 is not a work day, so it can’t be a Disability Insurance payday.

Because of this, SSA had to move this Disability Insurance payment to the previous Friday, which was a work day. Then, qualified people will get their disability payment on November 1, 2024, instead of November 3, 2024.

November 1: One SSDI payment and one SSI payment

To get two payments on November 1, you need to:

  • qualify for SSI &
  • be eligible for SSDI simultaneously
  • do not break any Social Security rules to remain eligible

Keep in mind that the 2.5% COLA raise that Social Security announced on October 10 will not show up in any of the November payments for SSI or SSDI. The increase in COLA will not be given to people on SSI until December 31.

The cost-of-living increase will not be given to people on SSDI until January 2025. When it comes to numbers, people who get SSI can get up to $3,822, but most people get about $1,539 a month.

People who get SSI can get up to $943, or about $698 a month. Married people who are eligible can get up to $1,415 a month from Supplemental Security Income. After the COLA increase, people will get up to $967 a month and couples will get up to $1,450 a month.
