The Social Security Administration has confirmed that the 2025 COLA increase for retirees would be issued in 2025. However, SNAP participants are already getting the 2025 COLA, as the USDA began delivering payments with the increase in October 2024.
In this way, SNAP participants do not have to wait until next year to receive additional funds. The negative is that the COLA for Food Stamps is far lower than the SSA’s COLA rise, which reached 2.5%, while the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program’s COLA was just about 0.34%.
SNAP payments left in Florida in October 2024, with COLA
Each state can handle Food Stamp applications and paydays. That is why the State of Florida is sending the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program through October 28, when other states have already issued all monthly payments. Some states, such as Alaska and Vermont, sent all rewards on a single payment.
Florida arranges paydays using the case number that SNAP beneficiaries have. Florida uses the 9th and 8th digits of the recipient’s case number, but it is read backward and the 10th digit is skipped.
