Florida – A Florida woman had a surprising breakfast experience when she bit into a Pillsbury Strawberry Toaster Strudel, discovering something far from the expected strawberry filling. Her TikTok video documenting the moment went viral, prompting a swift response from the company.
What Was Inside the Strudel?
TikTok creator Nikki Gallo (@itsmenikkig) shared a video showing the inside of the strudel, which was supposed to be filled with strawberry jam. Instead, it contained a fine, white powder.
“Everyone else’s was normal… it’s like f—— powder,” she said.
On camera, Nikki pulled the strudel apart, revealing layers packed with the mysterious white substance. There was only one tiny red spot where some jam appeared to remain. Nikki admitted she had eaten a bite, immediately realizing something was off.
“I’m actually pretty scared,” she said.
Pillsbury Responds
Pillsbury quickly commented on her TikTok, saying:
“Sorry to see what happened! We’d like to report this to our team and send out a voucher to replace the dough for you. Can you please send us a DM?”
Nikki followed up, and Pillsbury explained via email that the white powder could be ingredients that were not thoroughly blended, resulting from uneven distribution during the manufacturing process.

The company reported her complaint to the appropriate department and sent Nikki three free product vouchers along with a formal apology.
“Thanks Pillsbury for acknowledging what happened and for making it right,” Nikki said.
How Could This Happen?
Even large-scale food brands rely on machines, blending systems, and conveyor belts. If a malfunction occurs, such as an improperly mixed batch or a filling station error, unusual outcomes like Nikki’s can appear.
TikTok Reacts
The video drew a mix of humor and concern from viewers:
- “That was a cartel box… they gone be mad!” one joked.
- “Hopefully that’s just flour,” another said.
- Some suggested a machinery problem, with one viewer noting the conveyor belt may have malfunctioned, leaving flour instead of jam.
The viral clip serves as a reminder that even trusted brands can experience unexpected production errors, and quick customer service can help resolve the situation.
