Georgetown Man Arrested, Facing Charges of Criminal Sexual Assault

Georgetown County, South Carolina — Sheriff Carter Weaver reported that a guy from Georgetown was arrested on accusations of criminal sexual assault, kidnapping, and possession of a firearm during a violent felony.

Daniel Shane Griffin, 53, is accused of enticing a lady to his Saints Delight Road home as a cleaner before forcing her to perform sexual activities with a tiny black revolver.

Investigators from the Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office seized the firearm and discovered that it had been stolen. Investigators are requesting an extra warrant for the stolen handgun.

The suspect is being held at Georgetown County Detention Center pending a bond hearing.
