Heartbreaking! Local Restaurant to Close After Struggling with Costs and Laws!

Con Huevos, a restaurant in Trussville’s Entertainment District, has announced it will soon close permanently, citing difficult business conditions.

The restaurant, which opened in October 2023, pointed to increased tariffs, higher prices for essential goods like eggs, avocados, and alcohol, and new laws affecting migrant workers as key reasons for the decision.

In a Facebook post, the restaurant stated, “The human quality and quality of our products has always been a priority, and we are not willing to sacrifice it — for price.”

They added that while this wasn’t the ending they had hoped for, they were grateful for the experience.

Con Huevos is known for its breakfast-focused menu, serving daily from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., with eggs being a central part of its offerings.

The financial strain on the business increased earlier this year when the U.S. Department of Agriculture predicted a 20% rise in egg prices.

The restaurant plans to sell off furniture and kitchen equipment. A closing date has not been announced, and the owner declined to comment further.
