Illegal Immigrant with Multiple DWI and Theft Convictions Deported Again by ICE

A Mexican woman who has been deported from the U.S. four times and has 12 convictions — six for driving while intoxicated (DWI) and six for theft — was sent back to Mexico again on Thursday.

Leticia Caballero Guadarrama, 53, was transferred from the Montgomery Processing Center in Conroe, Texas, to the Laredo Port of Entry, where she was handed over to Mexican authorities, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) reported on Friday.

Guadarrama illegally entered the U.S. at least six times before voluntarily returning to Mexico in 2002, according to ICE. She was later deported in 2003, twice in 2009, once in 2010, and again on Thursday.

While living in the U.S., Guadarrama built up a significant criminal record, with six DWI convictions and six theft convictions.

She was also charged twice for refusing to provide identification to law enforcement.

“I’ve served in law enforcement for over 30 years, and it’s rare for something to shock me,” said Bret Bradford, Director of ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations in Houston.

“The level of disregard this individual has shown for our laws and the brave men and women who enforce them is appalling.”

Bradford added that Guadarrama’s actions have repeatedly harmed hard-working Texans. “By driving drunk and stealing from others, she endangered the community and drained taxpayer-funded resources.

Her refusal to cooperate with authorities only added to the problem,” he said.
