L.A. Zoo Lights 2025 Returns with Dazzling New Displays and Fan Favorites

LOS ANGELES, Calif. — The Los Angeles Zoo is set to light up the city once again this holiday season as LA Zoo Lights: Animals Aglow returns with an all-new lineup of glowing installations and returning crowd favorites.

The beloved nighttime event opens to the public on November 13 and runs through January 11, transforming the zoo into a radiant wonderland filled with illuminated wildlife displays, interactive zones, and festive treats.

What’s New This Year

Zoo officials announced several new themed areas for the 2025 season. Among them is a pollinator section, highlighting birds, insects, and the plants they rely on. Visitors will also encounter:

  • A lantern-lit Southeast Asia zone, depicting exotic animals and lush forests.
  • An African landscape installation featuring sculptural lights celebrating the continent’s iconic wildlife.

Interactive exhibits, glowing tunnels, and returning attractions will round out the illuminated journey across the zoo’s grounds.

Festive Fun for All Ages

Guests can step inside a giant walk-in kaleidoscope, meet Santa Claus for photos, and sip hot cocoa or other seasonal beverages. Adults 21 and older can enjoy beer, wine, and cocktails, with expanded bar service available Friday through Sunday nights.

Special Themed Nights

This year’s schedule also includes two unique themed evenings:

  • Sensory-Inclusive Night (Dec. 9): Designed for guests who benefit from a calmer experience, with lowered music, smaller crowds, sensory bags, and reentry access.
  • Pride Night (Jan. 8): Featuring a DJ dance party, full bar, and inclusive facilities celebrating the LGBTQ+ community.

Ticket Information

General admission prices start at $29 for adults and $19 for children, while zoo members receive a $5 discount. Tickets are available now at lazoolights.org.

The event will not operate on most Mondays and Tuesdays, as well as Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Eve.

“It’s one of L.A.’s brightest holiday traditions,” zoo officials said. “We’re excited to welcome families back for another year of magical memories.”
