LAPD Needs Your Help to Find a 14-year-old Mother and Her Baby, Who Has a Heart Problem

2 min read

LOS ANGELES— On Monday, the baby’s family and the police asked for help in finding her and her young mother, who went missing in the East Los Angeles area on Sunday. The baby has a heart problem.

Amoria Brown, 14, and her 3-week-old daughter Omoria were last seen in the 5200 block of East Huntington Drive around 9 p.m. Sunday. The LAPD said in a news statement with pictures of the missing girl that they thought they were going to the high desert north of Los Angeles with family.

Raquel Brown, Amoria’s guardian, said, “It’s just a lot right now; trying to take it all in, trying to process it.” “I just want the child to be safe.” She’s a good mom. I’m not going to say she’s bad. She is young. Make no mistake about it—I can’t expect her to change quickly. But I’m here to help.

Raquel says the girl called her family to let them know she and the baby were fine. No one knows where they are, but family members think she’s going to the High Desert.

When the cops first told people about the missing person, they named a 15-year-old girl as Brown’s sister-in-law and said she was missing. Her family says she has since gotten back together with her family.
