The Lodi Fire Foundation has launched a new campaign, seeking community support to help fund local fire stations.
“If you have a safe and healthy fire department, then you absolutely have a safe and healthy community,” said Chris Meehleis, the President of the Lodi Fire Foundation.
“Every extra piece of equipment counts,” they say, in order to accomplish this goal. A new initiative has been launched, and it is called Sponsor Your Local Fire Station.
“We have four,” Meehleis explained. “We have four.” “You can pick one, the one that you live near, or you can just do it for Lodi in general.”
The city budget for this year allocates around $19 million to the fire department, which provides funding for a total of 47 firefighters along with 15 firefighters who are on call each day.
They require as much assistance as they can receive in order to maintain that level of performance.
Hobie Day, the treasurer of the Lodi Fire Foundation, made the following statement: “It’s just another fundraising opportunity.” The golf tournament, which takes place in May, and the Christmas festival, which takes place in December, are the two major events that we concentrate on the most. To put it another way, we are always seeking for additional sources of fundraising that we can provide to the Lodi fire department and, eventually, the town of Lodi.
Any amount of money, from one dollar to ten dollars, can be contributed to the foundation by any individual for any reason. The entirety of it is returned to the departments that are located right in your community.
Kirk Sasaki, Vice Chair of the Lodi Fire Foundation, stated that this enables the organization to assist in the collection of donations to address the unfilled needs. “We can help keep our firefighters safe or get them equipment that can help them help keep our community safe as well.”
Not only is the apparatus that the foundation has previously provided to the department crucial for the firefighters, but it is also essential for the community as a whole during this time.
After that, Meehleis stated, “We are currently working on this campaign for the cardiac monitors.” “First, the city purchased one, and then the foundation purchased another one; it is attached to the patient and provides information regarding all of their vital signs. It transmits that information to the hospital in advance, before they arrive there, so that the emergency rooms are aware of who, what, and all of the vitals that are coming in.
Extractors, which are used to remove poisons from fire gear, tactical vests intended to shield firefighters from gunshots, and equipment for their water rescue boat are some of the other pieces of equipment that are available.
All the necessary equipment to safeguard them so that they can safeguard us.
Lodi is one of a kind. So Lodi is a lovable and livable place, right? Therefore, this is the reason why everyone in this place enjoys Lodi, and it is a wonderful community. Nothing can compare to it. Everyone contributes, and not just to us, but to everyone else as well. According to Meehleis, the community is known for its generosity.
Every year, the Lodi Fire Foundation reports that they raise between $50,000 and $60,000.
