Longview Drivers Report Vehicle Damage Following Gas Station Mix-Up

1 min read

Longview, Texas — Over Labor Day weekend, numerous Longview residents were left without a working vehicle after pumping gas from Murphy USA near Loop 281.

Customers have reported cars that stall, halt, or do not run at all. Those impacted feel they received the incorrect sort of fuel.

“Well, the people who have already had their vehicles diagnosed, the ones that were gas, their tanks are full of diesel, and the ones that were diesel, their tanks are filled with gas,” Jason Brown, a Harleton real estate agent, said.

Many clients are now without transportation and must find alternative means to get around.

On Tuesday, the gas station remained operational, but every gas pump was blocked. Those affected have contacted Murphy USA to begin the following steps in filing a claim.

Brown stated that a tow truck driver assisting those affected has already picked up over 200 vehicles.

“The tow truck driver that picked up a truck right here earlier today had told me his numbers were 268,” Brown said. “We have to get it towed to a shop get it inspected by a certified mechanic and then we have to send this form back to them.”
