Race Day Live (Los Angeles, CA) – A Los Angeles County man has been arrested for burglarizing six businesses in two days.
According to the Claremont Police Department (CPD), police detained a guy on Saturday afternoon who is accused of burglarizing six businesses in Los Angeles County from January 2-4.
During those two nights, the individual, identified as 30-year-old Hector Bernal of Covina, reportedly struck four establishments in the 800-900 block of West Foothill Boulevard and two in the 700 block of South Indian Hill Boulevard.
CPD detectives and officers linked information from each burglary, eventually leading them to a Claremont motel where Bernal was staying.
On Saturday, police monitored the hotel from an unknown time until around 12:50 p.m., when they noticed Bernal departing with a lady.
Bernal was arrested without incident and charged with six charges of commercial burglary, grand theft, theft with priors, and possession of stolen property.

CPD said the woman, 28-year-old Alexis Tinoco of Upland, was also detained for possessing stolen property. Officials took Bernal and Tinoco to the CPD Jail for booking.
The agency stated that officers subsequently conducted a search warrant at Bernal and Tinoco’s hotel room, discovering further stolen stuff. According to CPD, the goods included stolen stuff belonging to Claremont victims who Bernal allegedly burglarized during the previous 48 hours.

Bernal was to be kept at the CPD Jail until his court appearance at the Pomona Courthouse at 8 a.m. on Jan. 7. Meanwhile, Tinoco was released with a written promise to appear.
